AKMU tops ‘Show! Music core’ charts, with comeback for SHINee’s Key and Heo young-ji

The musical duo AKMU secured the top spot on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ aired on 16 September.

For the third week of September, the contenders for the number one position on ‘Show! Music Core’ were NewJeans‘s ‘ETA,’ AKMU’s ‘Love Lee,’ and Jeon Somi’s ‘Fast Forward.’

The winner of the day was AKMU. Their song ‘Love Lee’ is characterized by its acoustic sound, rhythmic drum beats, and stylish vocals. The song covers relatable, everyday topics and is laced with clever lyrics. Since its release, ‘Love Lee’ has swept major domestic music charts, solidifying AKMU’s reputation as a ‘digital powerhouse.’

SHINee‘s Key also made his comeback. Key performed his second mini-album title track, ‘Good & Great,’ which showcased a performance that reflects the diverse experiences of people living in a busy modern society. One of the highlights was the self-praising point choreography, where he pats himself on the head twice. ‘Good & Great’ encapsulates Key’s pride in himself and his work, aiming to resonate with workers everywhere.

Heo Young-ji, formerly of Kara, also made her first solo comeback after nine years, performing her new track ‘L.O.V.E.’ The song combines house rhythm with funky pop and EDM elements, delivering an unforgettable, addictive melody. It carries the message of living a long life filled with the energy of ‘love,’ particularly highlighting Heo Young-ji’s lovable charm.
