On the 3rd, at 1:00 PM (Korean time), Jungkook is releasing his solo album “GOLDEN.” This album is inspired by the “golden moments” of the solo artist and includes the title track “Standing Next to You,” solo single “Seven (feat. Latto)” in both Explicit and Clean versions, “3D (feat. Jack Harlow),” and new songs such as “Closer to You (feat. Major Lazer),” “Yes or No,” “Please Don’t Change (feat. DJ Snake),” “Hate You,” “Somebody,” “Too Sad to Dance,” and “Shot Glass of Tears,” totaling 11 tracks.
Jungkook expressed the flow of emotions based on changes in relationships according to the order of tracks. The first part of the album is filled with cheerful energy that is reminiscent of someone in love, while the latter part features somewhat heavier tracks to depict the emotions of parting.
–> Jungkook’s Narrative… Capturing All Moments with “Golden Moments”
“GOLDEN” encompasses his journey from being BTS’s “golden maknae” to a solo artist who has risen to the ranks of “global pop stars.” To express his expanded musical world, Jungkook personally selected songs spanning various genres and devoted his skills to the entire album-making process.
Furthermore, renowned musicians from around the world collaborated with Jungkook on the album. British singer Ed Sheeran, Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes, electronic hip-hop group Major Lazer, BloodPop, David Stewart, and more contributed to the production.
The lineup of featured artists is also impressive. In addition to Latto in “Seven” and Jack Harlow in “3D,” unique artists like Major Lazer and French producer/rapper DJ Snake enhanced the charm of the songs.
–> The Apex of a “Complete Performance” with the Title Track “Standing Next to You”
The title track, “Standing Next to You,” is a retro-funk genre song that showcases his groovy vocals. This song delivers a message of “our love is deeper than anything, so I will stand by your side no matter what adversity comes our way.” In this song, lush orchestral performances, explosive percussion, and his powerful singing harmonize perfectly. Andrew Watt and Cirkut, who produced the mega-hit song “Seven” that swept the summer, teamed up again for the production of the title track.
Particularly, it’s impossible to discuss the title track without mentioning the performance. Jungkook, who received an explosive response with just a teaser of the choreography video released on the 2nd, is determined to solidify his position as a dance solo artist and reach the pinnacle of a “complete performance” through “Standing Next to You.”
Meanwhile, Jungkook is scheduled to appear on popular talk shows, including “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on the 7th and “Today Show’s CitiConcert Series” on the 8th, which are representative morning and evening programs on the U.S. NBC network.
