Go Youn Jung opens up about audition experience and unforgettable scene in hit series ‘Moving’

Actress Go Youn Jung recently opens up about her audition and the scene that left a lasting impression on her in the hit K-drama series “Moving.”

The talented actress has consistently impressed audiences, shifting effortlessly from supporting roles to starring in leading roles, like in “Sweet Home,” and then delivering an exceptional performance in “Alchemy of Souls.”

The 27-year-old star is now capturing viewers’ hearts in her latest role as Jang Hee Soo in the year’s most buzzed-about K-drama, “Moving.”

How Go Youn Jung nailed her audition for her role in ‘Moving’

In a conversation with a local media outlet, Go Youn Jung looked back on her audition experience for the show. The actress revealed that she was uninformed about the original webtoon on which the series is based when she attended the casting.

Following her successful audition, she received an autographed copy of the webtoon from its creator and writer, Kang Full.

The writer mentioned that Go Youn Jung reminded him of the character Jang Hee Soo, particularly in her vocal tone.

Reading the script, the actress said she instantly became enamoured with the role.

“When I delved into the source material, the character became even more captivating,” she remarked, explaining that she thoroughly studied the traits and personality of Jang Hee Soo.

In the 20-episode drama, the actress plays a character who shares a unique healing ability with her on-screen father, Jang Joo Won, portrayed by Ryu Seung Ryong. Both characters possess extraordinary healing capabilities, making them resistant to injury.

What caught Go Youn Jung’s attention the most was an intense battle scene involving her character, Jang Hee Soo, taking on 17 students. Remarkably, she survived the fight unscathed and was subsequently labeled a “monster” by her peers, resulting in her expulsion from the campus.

“It was an exhilarating and fulfilling experience,” she commented.

A Thoughtful Gesture from Ryu Seung Ryong to Go Youn Jung

Go Youn Jung revealed a touching moment between her and veteran actor Ryu Seung Ryong during a script-reading session for “Moving.”

She said that the acclaimed actor came to the table read bearing two floral arrangements, personally chosen by him: one for her and another for Kwak Sun Young, who portrays Jang Joo Won’s spouse, Hwang Ji Hee.

The show’s upcoming episodes 14 and 15 are set to be released on September 6, available for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.

Notably, the last three episodes for “Moving” is scheduled to premiere on September 20.
