“Blaming G-Dragon for ‘Drug Allegations”?: “Hangout with Yoo” Daesung’s appearance to be suspended

The episode of MBC’s “Hangout with Yoo” featuring Big Bang’s Daesung has been suspended.

The 204th episode of “Hangout with Yoo” that aired on the 21st discontinued its replay service on the official website on the 26th. However, clips from the broadcast and previews for the upcoming Saturday show, where Daesung is expected to appear, are still available. The broadcast is currently not accessible on both the official website and online streaming platforms.

Some speculate that this decision is influenced by Big Bang member G-Dragon’s ongoing police investigation for alleged drug-related offenses. G-Dragon was booked without detention the previous day on charges of violating drug control laws. The police are reported to have secured G-Dragon’s statement regarding the drug-related allegations from an entertainment establishment owner in Gangnam, along with actor Lee Sun-kyun.

Previously, it was revealed that in late 2017, illegal prostitution solicitation had taken place in an 8-story building worth 31 billion KRW that Daesung had purchased. At the time, the police concluded that Daesung was not connected to the prostitution solicitation and handed the case to the prosecution with a recommendation for non-indictment. This incident had already dealt a severe blow to Daesung’s image, leading to some netizens believing that it is too early for his return.
