Singer Hwasa is making her solo comeback after two years. On the 6th, at 6 PM (KST), she will release her new digital single ‘I Love My Body’ through various music streaming sites.
‘I Love My Body’ is Hwasa’s solo comeback song, coming approximately two years after her last release, ‘Guilty Pleasure,’ in 2021. Especially, this marks her first release since joining the P NATION label in June, and there is much anticipation for her future solo artist activities in collaboration with P NATION’s leader, Psy.
The new song combines 70s Motown soul music with 808 bass, presenting a contemporary sense of soul pop. It features a simple but addictive chorus and a kitschy yet sophisticated beat. The lyrics convey a message about cherishing and loving one’s body, which is more precious than anything else but easily forgotten, a message that resonates with everyone.
Moreover, Hwasa worked with performers from the Street Woman Fighter and Street Man Fighter shows, Hwasa of Laysha and Kinki of HOW, who participated as performance directors.
Hwasa made her debut in 2014 as part of the group MAMAMOO and started her solo career in 2019 with the single ‘twit.’ Her first mini-album, ‘Maria,’ released in 2020 with the title track of the same name, reached the top of music charts, earning her significant love and recognition.
Additionally, Hwasa appeared on the TVN show ‘Dance Singer Wanderers’ which ended in August, touring the country with senior solo female singers, continuing her unique and impressive activities. Expectations are high for how Hwasa will captivate the public with her music and performances this time.
