Im Si-wan gained attention as a ‘professional promise-keeper’ as he went on an end-of-year date with Ha Jung-woo after Ha Jung-woo simply said, “Let’s have a meal.”
He mentioned that he is making another promise with Lee Byung-hun, saying, “I can’t make empty promises,” indicating his commitment to keeping his word.
Both actors are currently filming for Netflix’s original series ‘Squid Game’ Season 2. Im Si-wan added, “I told Lee Byung-hun to meet on October 8th, but we haven’t been able to confirm it yet. I suggested we meet on the day we bump into each other and have dinner.”
Regarding ‘Squid Game,’ Im Si-wan said, “I was delighted to be shooting with senior actors and fellow actors I admire. I had no reason to hesitate about the role. I watched Season 1 on the day it was released. It was a genre I really liked, and after watching ‘Squid Game,’ I became confident that I genuinely like this genre.”
He added, “When I heard that ‘Squid Game 2’ was offered, I didn’t hesitate for even a second. I said, ‘I’ll do it.'”
Im Si-wan mentioned that his criteria for selecting a project vary each time, saying, “Sometimes I consider if it’s a blockbuster with many senior actors, and other times I think about whether it’s a good piece of work that resonates emotionally. I think about it technically, externally, and emotionally. It’s still an unsolved homework.”
Im Si-wan is to be joined by actors, such as Kang Ha-nuel and Wi Ha-joon, for this season.
