‘Lovers’ crown as South Korea’s favourite show: Namgoong Min says “It’s energizing”

The drama ‘Lovers’ has taken the top spot for South Koreans’ most beloved TV program in October.

According to a Korea Gallup report released on the 23rd, MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama ‘Lovers’, starring Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin, ranked first with a preference rate of 3.7%.

‘Lovers’ is a human history melodrama that deals with the love of lovers that is intertwined during the Imjin War and the vitality of the people. The second part has been airing since the 13th of last month, which took the top spot in integrated topicality as soon as it started. In addition, with a momentary viewer rating of up to 13.4% as of the 14th episode, it recorded the top spot for all channels in the same time slot and the top spot for Friday-Saturday dramas across all channels.

Upon hearing the news of being chosen as South Koreans’ most beloved program, Namgoong Min expressed his gratitude, saying, “I sincerely thank all the viewers who love our drama ‘Lovers’. ‘Lovers,’ the top choice for South Koreans’ favorite program, gives us strength. Following ‘Lovers,’ the second most beloved program for South Koreans is the MBC reality show ‘I Live Alone.’

Korea Gallup’s survey on ‘favorite TV programs’ has been conducted monthly since 2013, and it is conducted through telephone interviews with interviewers using a random sampling method of landline phone RDD sample frames, including 10% of landline phone RDD. The sample error is ±3.1 points with a 95% confidence level, and the response rate is 14.2%.
