JYP Entertainment’s new boy group, NEXZ, released a performance video

JYP Entertainment’s new boy group, NEXZ, released a performance video as part of the group project and revealed its talents as a next-generation stage gourmet.

NEXZ is a new boy group created in 2023 through season 2 of the audition program “Nizi Project”, a collaboration between JYP and Japan’s largest record label Sony Music, and consists of Yu, Tomoya, Haru, Ken, Seita, Yuhi, and Yuki.

After forming the team, they have been actively engaged in activities such as releasing music and appearing on local broadcasts. At 8 PM (KST) on January 24th, they released a performance video, the first content of their new project “NEXZ Archive”, on their official channel.

In the video, the members performed to Timbaland & Magoo’s “Drop (feat. Fatman Scoop)”. The group attracted attention with its free-spirited atmosphere, refreshing dance on a hip beat, and difficult B-boying techniques, and boasted a fantastic choreography that made all members seem to move as one body.

At the end of the performance, Kirsten from Jam Republic, who garnered a lot of attention by appearing on Mnet’s “Street Woman Fighter 2”, made a surprise appearance. NEXZ exuded even more powerful energy by collaborating with Kirsten, who created the choreography together, through a dance workshop. By unleashing the potential of a talented rookie and perfecting not only individual capabilities but also chemistry as a team, he attracted the attention of viewers around the world.

The Korean and Japanese versions of the song ‘Miracle’, a common mission song for the “Nizi Project” Season 2 Final Stage released on December 18, 2023, and the performance video are also gaining popularity. The performance video exceeded 10 million views on YouTube as of December 24, six days after its release, and recently exceeded 15 million views.

The ‘Miracle’ sound source written and composed by Park Jin-young also topped the Oricon Daily Digital Single Ranking as of December 18, the day of release, as well as various local music sites such as iTunes, Line Music, AWA, mu-mo, and Rakuten Music, and the Korean version. It also proved its popularity by ranking first on Japan’s iTunes K-pop chart.

NEXZ’s group name, which has been receiving great love since its pre-debut, is an abbreviation of ‘Next Z(G)eneration’.

JYP representative producer and ‘Nizi Project’ judge Park Jin-young said, “I hope to open the future with a new generation.”
