Omega X officially filed a lawsuit against former Spiro Entertainment’s CEO on charges of sexual harassment

The agency, IPQ Entertainment, announced on the 29th that they have completed the process of filing a criminal lawsuit against the YouTuber, referred to as ‘A’, who accused the group of tampering. This lawsuit is based on charges of defamation due to the dissemination of false information, as well as obstruction of business, related to the videos posted on ‘A’s YouTube channel.

Furthermore, IPQ Entertainment revealed that they are currently in the process of legal action against the former CEO of Spiro Entertainment, the agency’s third-party agreement partner, for one-sided accountability causing damages, false information dissemination, defamation, obstruction of business, forced molestation, and emotional abuse.

The agency emphasized that they plan to initiate legal proceedings against both domestic and international online posts, comments, and videos reproducing and expanding on the claims made in ‘A’s YouTube channel. They declared that any content containing false information, misinformation, or intended defamation will be subjected to legal action without exception.

Moreover, the agency asserted that they have already gathered all necessary evidence for the current case. Even if related posts are deleted or altered in the future, they intend to pursue legal proceedings based on the collected evidence.

The agency stated that they have also filed a criminal lawsuit against the former CEO of Spiro Entertainment on charges of sexual harassment. They explained that this action is based on the fact that Spiro Entertainment’s verbal abuse and physical assault were acknowledged as true in a fair legal judgment. This resulted in restraining orders against the CEO. The agency also revealed that, in consideration of the group’s continued activities, they had previously agreed to terminate their exclusive contract with Spiro Entertainment and transfer their IP rights under the condition that they would not raise further civil or criminal issues. This agreement encompassed not proceeding with additional lawsuits regarding sexual harassment. However, due to Spiro Entertainment’s claim of innocence regarding the aforementioned case, and in response to the violation of the agreement terms, Omega X’s agency has proceeded with filing a civil and criminal lawsuit against them.

In regard to the allegations of tampering and misinformation, the agency emphasized their commitment to pursuing a strong legal response based on clear and accurate evidence.

The official statement from IPQ Entertainment is as follows:

“Hello, this is IPQ Entertainment.

As of August 29th, 2023, we would like to provide an update on our legal response to the current situation.

1. We have completed the process of filing a criminal lawsuit against the videos related to the current case posted on the YouTube channel ‘Injiwoong K-pop idol trainer,’ including a broadcast injunction, due to the dissemination of false information, defamation, and obstruction of business.

2. We are currently in the process of filing a civil and criminal lawsuit against the former CEO of Spiro Entertainment based on one-sided accountability causing damages, false information dissemination, defamation, obstruction of business, forced molestation, and emotional abuse. This is in relation to our third-party agreement with Spiro Entertainment.

3. We plan to initiate legal proceedings against domestic and international online posts, comments, and videos reproducing and expanding on the claims made in ‘Injiwoong K-pop idol trainer’ channel, based on the content posted there.

We hereby announce that we will pursue legal action without exception against all online and offline content containing false information, misinformation, or intended defamation. We have completed the collection of all necessary evidence for legal procedures, and even if related content is deleted or altered, we will continue the legal process based on the collected data.

We have clearly and firmly stated that the allegations made by SBS and journalist Kang Kyung-yoon regarding Omega X’s tampering involvement are blatant false information. Naturally, there cannot be any recordings to support these allegations. We deeply regret that the ‘Injiwoong K-pop idol trainer’ YouTube channel has contradicted their previous stance without proper confirmation of evidence and has caused the dissemination of false information and defamation. Our legal response to these actions will continue without alteration.

In January of this year, Omega X won the case regarding the suspension of the effect of the exclusive contract with Spiro Entertainment. Based on a fair legal judgment, Spiro Entertainment’s verbal abuse and physical assault were acknowledged as true, leading to restraining orders against them. Following this, in order to protect the rights of the members and continue the group’s activities, the members decided to terminate the exclusive contract and transfer their IP rights to IPQ Entertainment under the condition that they would not raise further civil or criminal issues. Thus, they did not proceed with additional lawsuits related to sexual harassment. However, due to Spiro Entertainment’s claim of innocence and their violation of the agreement, we have filed a civil and criminal lawsuit against them regarding the sexual harassment case.

We would like to clarify once again that there were no illegal actions or tampering attempts during the process of Omega X’s termination of the exclusive contract with Spiro Entertainment and their subsequent transfer to IPQ Entertainment. The eleven members of Omega X have shown their genuine selves, which is supported by legal evidence, in order to protect their individual rights, which were severely impacted by repeated verbal abuse and physical assault. They did not engage in any illegal actions for personal gain.

We will continue to pursue legal action based on clear and accurate evidence and facts, in order to protect Omega X’s members and ensure their uninterrupted activities.
