PENTAGON members opt for new beginnings as contract renewal talks conclude
Members Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok of PENTAGON are leaving their agency. However, PENTAGON members have emphasized that this does not signify the disbandment or departure of the group.
On the 9th, Cube Entertainment, their agency, announced, “With the expiration of the members’ exclusive contracts approaching, we had sincere conversations with the members for a long time. After careful discussions, we have decided to conclude exclusive contracts with Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok.”
They continued, “We extend our deep gratitude to Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok, who have run alongside us for a long seven years, and we wish them happiness always. We request warm encouragement and support for the members Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok, who are standing at a new starting line.”
PENTAGON, a nine-member boy group that debuted on October 10, 2016, celebrated their 7th anniversary today (10th). It is reported that members Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, and Shinwon still have contracts that have not yet expired. With the news that more than half of the members are leaving Cube Entertainment, there have been speculations about the group’s potential disbandment.
However, on the same day, member Yeo One conveyed through a handwritten letter, “Although I am parting ways with Cube Entertainment, I will always be with Universe, just like I am now. I will always strive and grow to make sure PENTAGON shines in any situation. I will become the Yeo One, who continues to grow.” He emphasized, “PENTAGON has never left,” and “It’s not departure or disbandment.”
Shinwon, who is about to enlist in the military, also reassured fans, saying, “I enjoyed it to the fullest for 7 years. I’ll be back to support PENTAGON even more after serving in the military. I want to think of it as a healing time. I have regrets and unspoken pain, but I’ll heal all of that and come back as a strong person. Don’t worry.”
The members posted the phrase “PENTAGON NEVER DIES” along with a complete group photo on their respective social media accounts, expressing their determination to continue their group activities.
