Photos of trainees led by Teddy have sparked discussion, due to their connections to well-known artistes.
On the 5th, photos of the so-called “Teddy girl group” trainees were revealed online. The pictures show women posing in what appears to be a practice room. Especially notable is Ella Gross, a child actress and model who signed an exclusive contract with Teddy Park‘s label, The Black Label, in 2018, leading to speculation that she is one of the trainees.
Of particular interest is Moon. Moon, the daughter of Shinsegae Vice Chairman Chung Yong-jin’s younger sister, has shown a close relationship with YG Entertainment artists such as BLACKPINK, 2NE1’s CL (2NE1) and Jeon So-mi. This has led to speculation among netizens whether Moon will debut as part of Teddy’s girl group.
Teddy gained fame as a member of 1TYM, producing hit songs like “1TYM” and “One Love.” After the group’s disbandment in 2006, he transitioned to a producer role at YG Entertainment, producing for acts like BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK, contributing to the label’s success. In 2015, he established The Black Label under YG, successfully overseeing Jeon So-mi‘s solo debut. Industry excitement surrounds the news of him launching a girl group fully imbued with his unique style, though a precise debut date remains uncertain.
