T-ARA’s Jiyeon Opens Up About Career Hiatus After Marriage

On the 3rd, Jiyeon shared her concerns about the career hiatus that came with marriage.

In a video on her YouTube channel, Jiyeon revealed, “Honestly, I thought that getting married would naturally lead to some degree of impact on our careers. Even though I had thought about it in terms of work, going through it myself was tough. It was even harder at first.”

She continued, “Who would I talk to about this? I told my brother-in-law that I feel so overwhelmed. I didn’t expect it to be this difficult, and it feels so frustrating. It feels like everything I’ve done in my career is now overshadowed by the fact that I got married.”

In particular, Jiyeon said, “Getting married at a young age was my choice, and I accept and acknowledge all of my decisions. It’s just that the chapter has changed, but I’m still the same person,” and added, “My brother-in-law always tells me to do whatever I want and take it easy. He tells me not to stress about work, but it’s not that easy.”

Jiyeon married professional baseball player Hwang Jae-gyun in December of last year. Their newlywed home is located in L Residence in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and it was reported that in one entertainment show, Hwang Jae-gyun purchased a 205㎡ unit for approximately 6.7 billion KRW.
