Tomorrow X Together’s ‘SWEET’ achieves double platinum certification from Japanese Record Association

According to an announcement from the Japan Record Association on the 10th, TOMORROW X TOGETHER  obtained the Gold Disc “Double Platinum” certification for their Japanese 2nd regular album ‘SWEET’, which surpassed 500,000 copies in shipments as of last month. This is TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s second “Double Platinum” certification overall. They previously received their first “Double Platinum” certification for their Japanese single 3rd album ‘GOOD BOY GONE BAD’, released in August of last year.

‘SWEET’ broke records by ranking first on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart with approximately 303,000 copies sold in the first week of release, setting a new record for the highest first-week sales for a domestic album in Japan. Additionally, they achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first foreign artist to achieve 8 consecutive No. 1 rankings on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart.

With this achievement, TOMORROW X TOGETHER has proven their strong presence as a “Global K-Pop Leader” in major music markets around the world. Recently, TOMORROW X TOGETHER received the RIAA “Gold” certification for their 5th mini album ‘The Chaos Chapter: TEMPTATION’, which sold over 500,000 units. They became the first K-Pop artist to receive an RIAA album certification after BTS. Additionally, they have been nominated in two categories for the prestigious 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA) to be held on the 12th of next month.
