Unpredictable clash: Jang Dong-gun and Lee Jun-ki’s battle draws attention in ‘Arthdal Chronicles 2’

Interest is mounting in the intense showdown between actors Jang Dong-gun and Lee Jun-ki.

In TVN’s new weekend drama ‘Arthdal Chronicles 2’ (written by Kim Young-hyun, Park Sang-yeon / directed by Kim Kwang-sik / produced by Studio Dragon, KPJ), the mythical story of Asdal, the land of the gods, is depicted. The drama narrates the fateful tales of Ta-gon, Eun-seom, Tan-ya, and Taealha, who each weave their own legends in the ancient land of Asdal.

In ‘Arthdal Chronicles 1’, actors Song Joong-ki and Kim Ji-won played the lead roles of Eun-seom and Tan-ya respectively. In Season 2, Song Joong-ki and Kim Ji-won stepped down, and actors Lee Joon-gi and Shin Se-kyung joined as replacements to continue the roles of the male and female leads.

As the powerful city-states of Asdal and the Union of Agos prepare for war, all eyes are on the inevitable clash between Ta-gon (played by Jang Dong-gun) and Eun-seom (played by Lee Joon-gi), the leaders of the two factions. The winner of this showdown remains uncertain, prompting a pre-analysis of their capabilities.

Firstly, Ta-gon, the first king of Asdal and the founder of the Asdal Union, who is revered for his return as the reincarnation of Aramun Haesulla, boasts impeccable abilities. As long as the elite ‘Daekan Unit,’ which follows Ta-gon’s command, exists, the combat power and military strength of the Asdal army cannot be easily undermined. (Founder of the Asdal Union. One of the eight gods of Asdal. He descended to the world as the son of Iruz and received teachings from Asa Sin, becoming a messenger of Asdal, and established the Asdal Union.)

Furthermore, Ta-gon has excelled in strategy and tactics, having played a pivotal role in leading the union to victory through numerous wars since his youth. He can overcome crises and create opportunities even in dire situations. Now, with the added power of time, experience, and leadership, it’s evident that Ta-gon is the reason for Asdal’s strength.

Additionally, the capabilities of Eun-seom, the leader of the Agos tribe, who has risen as a new force on the continent of Arthdal over the past eight years, are also impressive. Known as the reincarnation of I-na-i-sin-gi, who defeated Aramun Haesulla and became a god and hero of the Agos tribe, Eun-seom has shed his past naive self and has expanded his influence. (*Died 200 years ago, he is known for being the only one to defeat Aramun Haesulla and was reborn as a hero of the Agos tribe, acquiring the title of reincarnated I-na-i-sin-gi after passing the judgment of the waterfall. The term ‘Eun-seom’ now refers to this legend.)

Especially noteworthy is his exceptional leadership and commanding skills, evident in his unification of thirty different tribes and the consolidation of the Agos Union over the past eight years. He has demonstrated remarkable leadership and the ability to unify, comparable to that of Asdal. The determination of these qualities is also seen in the fact that he possesses combat power rivaling that of Asdal. The core of his determination indicates how resolutely Eun-seom has grown into a strong leader.

Judging solely by their capabilities, the outcome of the epic war between the Asdal Army and the Agos Union becomes even more intriguing. The eternal rivals, Ta-gon and Eun-seom, and the war they will bring upon Asdal’s future, are becoming increasingly captivating.

The highly anticipated TVN’s new Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Arthdal Chronicles 2,’ featuring the intense battle between Jang Dong-gun and Lee Jun-ki, will premiere on September 9th, Saturday, at 9:20 PM (KST).”
