YG stays mum as Lisa’s contract renewal speculations resurface amid dating rumors

Amid renewed rumors regarding the contract renewal of BLACKPINK’s Lisa with her agency, YG Entertainment remains silent.

On the 15th, YG told TenAsia, “The renewal of Lisa’s contract is under discussion. There has been no official confirmation of these rumors,” and remained silent on specific details.

Previously, Lisa was surrounded by dating rumors involving Frédéric Arnault, CEO of luxury watch brand Tag Heuer, a part of LVMH. This brought extra attention to the question of whether she would renew her contract with YG.

BLACKPINK debuted on August 8, 2016, and celebrated its 7th anniversary this year. Since K-pop idol group members usually sign contracts for seven years with their agencies, this period is critical for determining the group’s future. This is often referred to as the “7-year curse.” As no official news about the members’ contract renewals has been released, there is growing interest in their renewal decisions.

BLACKPINK will hold the ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] FINALE IN SEOUL’ on September 16-17 at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.
