On the morning of the 21st, a pre-trial hearing (warrant review) for Yoo Ah-in (real name Eom Hong-sik, 36), who is charged with violations of the Narcotics Control Act (cannabis), destruction of evidence, and fleeing, along with his acquaintance Choi Mo (32), took place at the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
Yoo Ah-in, as he headed towards the court, responded to reporters asking about his state of mind, saying, “I’m sorry once again for causing great concern during this time.” He went on to say, “I will answer sincerely and honestly in court.”
After completing the warrant review, Yoo Ah-in left the courthouse and briefly answered reporters’ questions before quickly boarding a police vehicle. During this process, a commotion occurred as a citizen threw money at him.
While Yoo Ah-in was being transported while tied to a rope, he was hit by money thrown at him, and he quickly got into the vehicle with a stern expression.
According to the prosecution, Yoo Ah-in is accused of repeatedly using medical narcotics, including propofol, worth a total of 500 million won, a total of 200 times at hospitals in Seoul since 2020.
The decision on whether to detain Yoo Ah-in again, following the second pre-trial hearing, is expected to be made on the same day.
