HYBE’s Chairman, Bang Si-hyuk, has earned his fourth consecutive spot on the “Billboard Power 100”, ranking jointly at 18th place with Scooter Braun, the CEO of HYBE America, according to the 2024 list released on the 31st.

Billboard acknowledged the global success of K-pop in 2023, emphasizing HYBE’s strengthened position in the world’s largest music market with the acquisition of Atlanta-based hip-hop company Quality Control.

The article highlighted HYBE’s expanding reach beyond K-pop, featuring achievements of artists like Jungkook, SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, NewJeans, and the collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, KATSEYE.

The “Billboard Power 100” annually recognizes the most influential figures in the music industry, and Bang Si-hyuk has consistently made the list in 2020, 2022, 2023, and now in 2024.

Taylor Swift, the American pop star, claimed the top spot in this year’s “Billboard Power 100”.

In the multi-sector category of the “Billboard Power 100”, Bang Si-hyuk secured the 2nd position, while Jang Yoon-jung, the co-CEO nominee of Kakao Entertainment, was ranked 17th.

Billboard analyzed Kakao’s strategic moves, including the acquisition of a 40% stake in SM Entertainment, combining SM’s music production system with Kakao’s music streaming services like Melon, and label systems like Starship Entertainment. They emphasized Kakao’s efforts in paving the way for its North American business.
