The 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games is a global youth sports competition hosted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This year, it will be the largest participation by any country in the history of the Winter Youth Olympic Games and the first to be held in Asia. LUN8 was the only K-pop boy group to be officially invited as a performer to the Gangneung opening ceremony, drawing the world’s attention.
On this day, LUN8wave, a unit made up of Takuma, Junwoo, Dohyun, Eunho Ji, and Eunseop, heated up the scene with the performance of “Stick Here” (Playground), showing passion and spirit with the title song of their debut album, “Wild Heart”. They decorated a full stage and delivered strong energy to the viewers. In addition, member Ji Eun-ho and Triple S’s Seo Da-hyun sang the theme song “We Go High” for the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics, adding even more meaning to the song by wishing for a successful hosting of the competition.
LUN8, who successfully completed the opening ceremony stage, said through his agency Fantagio, “It is truly an honor to be able to stand on the opening ceremony stage of the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games. I heard that this competition will be held in Gangwon-do for the first time in 6 years since the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, and I am happy to be able to join the stage to cheer on all the athletes who have worked hard just for this day. We will sincerely support you all so that you can achieve good results as much as you worked hard without any injuries.”
