SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu faces health setback: A pause in the spotlight

SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu‘s health is in a critical condition.

On the 26th, Pledis Entertainment, the agency of SEVENTEEN, notified fans of Mingyu’s health status and potential schedule changes through the official Seventeen fan community.

Pledis Entertainment stated, “Mingyu is suffering from sudden severe back pain today, making it difficult for him to move. He received medical treatment at the hospital and was advised by the medical staff to take a rest for a certain period to observe his recovery progress.”

They further mentioned, “While the artist is highly determined to continue his activities, we prioritize the advice of the medical professionals and the artist’s health. Therefore, we plan to flexibly manage his upcoming activities. Consequently, it will be challenging for him to participate in this week’s scheduled music broadcasts, fan signing events, and more.”

Pledis Entertainment expressed their apologies to the fans and asked for their understanding, assuring that they will concentrate on Mingyu’s treatment to ensure his swift recovery. They will provide further guidance regarding his return to activities.

SEVENTEEN recently released their 11th mini-album, ‘SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN,’ on the 23rd and had been preparing for their comeback activities, including music broadcasts and interactions with their fans, Carats.

However, due to injuries to SEVENTEEN like S.Coups, who underwent surgery for a ruptured left anterior cruciate ligament, and now Mingyu, fans are expressing concerns about the group’s well-being.
