IVE Jang Won-young won a lawsuit seeking damages against Mr. A, who has continuously harassed them

IVE Jang Won-young won a lawsuit seeking damages against Mr. A, the operator of the YouTube channel Taldeok Camp, who has continuously harassed K-pop group members.

The Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of some of the plaintiffs in a 100 million won damages lawsuit filed by IVE Jang Won-young and her agency Starship Entertainment against Mr. A.

In this lawsuit filed by Jang Won-young against Mr. A, the other party did not respond, so partial victory was decided through a false confession. A false confession means that a person is recognized as having confessed a crime if the other party does not refute the facts claimed by the other party.

Jang Won-young filed a lawsuit for damages in October last year, claiming that Mr. A had spread false and defamatory facts through a defector camp. Separately from this, Starship is pursuing domestic civil and criminal lawsuits and overseas lawsuits against defection camps that posted false information about Jang Won-young and other celebrities under her company.

The criminal complaint against Taldeok Camp was recently transferred from the police to the prosecution. Separately, there are two civil lawsuits filed against Taldeok Camp, and the lawsuits other than the one won by Jang Won-young are scheduled to be heard in January.

Starship said, “We operate a constant monitoring system to protect the rights of our entertainers, including their reputation, privacy, and personality, and we plan to take all possible legal measures without agreement in the future regarding defamation of artists and additional cases of damage.”
