Girl group IVE has captured Japan’s attention. According to the latest chart released by Oricon (as of June 12, based on the period from May 29 to June 4), IVE’s first Japanese album ‘WAVE’ has achieved the top spot on the Oricon weekly album ranking.

‘WAVE,’ released on May 31, immediately topped the Oricon daily album chart for seven consecutive days (from May 30 to June 5). Additionally, it secured the first position on the Tower Records comprehensive album chart (from May 29 to June 4) and Billboard Japan’s Top Albums Sales chart (from May 29 to June 4).

IVE, dominating the local charts, also surpassed 10 million views for the pre-released title track music video of ‘WAVE’ and has continued to receive immense love since its release. The group’s popularity is evident as their advertisements are displayed in the Shibuya district, and IVE’s songs are played randomly, proving their appeal.

In addition, advertisements featuring IVE’s visuals have captivated the attention of locals in Harajuku’s Laforet, and ad trucks featuring IVE roam around Shibuya, Omotesando, and Harajuku, filling Japan’s city centers with IVE’s presence.

IVE’s first Japanese album ‘WAVE’ includes two Japanese original songs, ‘WAVE’ and ‘Classic,’ as well as tracks like ‘After LIKE,’ ‘LOVE DIVE,’ and the Japanese version of ‘Take It,’ which is a song from their first single album ‘ELEVEN.’

IVE is actively promoting in Japan, making appearances on popular music shows like ‘Music Station’ to showcase their title track ‘WAVE’ on stage, further solidifying their presence in the Japanese music scene.
