“Alienoids” part 2 ranked first in advance reservation rates on the opening day, giving a green light to box office success.
The second part of “Alienoids”, which was released in theaters nationwide on the 10th, ranked first in the reservation rankings with a reservation rate of 42.5% and a volume of 105,656 tickets, heralding a change in the box office landscape.
However, this number is only about half of the opening day advance reservations for the previous releases, “12:12 The Day” (190,000 copies) and “Noryang: The Sea of Death” (320,000 copies). Since it is released in the off-season, it does not seem easy to expect explosive scores at the beginning of the release. The key is word of mouth.
“Alienoids” Part 2 needs a large box office hit to make up for the painful failure of Part 1 (1.54 million viewers). The production cost for the simultaneous production of the two films is approximately 70 billion won. The break-even point per episode is 7 million people. Since the first division failed to achieve even 1/4 of the break-even point, a significant portion of the loss must be made up in the second division. Part 2 is being evaluated as being better than Part 1, but it remains to be seen whether actual viewers will agree with this.
Part 2 of “Alienoids” is a film depicting the story of humans and gurus trying to save everyone by returning to the future while hidden secrets are revealed in the fierce battle for the new sword. Continuing from the previous film, Ryu Jun-yeol, Kim Tae-ri, Yeom Jeong-ah, Jo Woo-jin, and Kim Eui-seong will appear.
