BTS’s Jimin is nominated in 4 categories for Billboard Music Awards 2023

The ”2023 Billboard Music Awards” will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA at 10 am (KST) on the 20th. This year’s awards ceremony will be held in a non-face-to-face format.

At this awards ceremony, awards were given in 69 categories, with BTS‘s Jimin in the ”Top Selling Song” category, FIFTYFIFTY in the ”Top Duo Group”, and NewJeans in the ”Top Billboard Global Artist (excluding the U.S.)” category.

In particular, starting from this year’s awards ceremony, four new K-pop categories were created: ”Top Global K-pop Artist”, ”Top K-pop Tour”, ”Top K-pop Album”, and ”Top Global K-pop Song”.

In the ”Top Global K-Pop Artist” category, BTS Jimin, New Jeans, Stray Kids, Tomorrow by Together, and TWICE were named. BLACKPINK, BTS’s Suga, and TWICE participated in the ‘’Top K-Pop Tour’’. Candidates for ‘’Top K-Pop Album’’ include BTS Jimin, NewJeans, Stray Kids, Tomorrow by Together, and TWICE. The candidates for ‘Top Global K-Pop Song’ were FIFTYFIFTY’s ”Cupid”, Jimin’s ”Like Crazy”, Jungkook’s ”Seven”, and New Jeans’s ”Ditto” and ”OMG”.

Jimin was named in a total of four categories, including ‘‘Top Billboard Global Artist’’, ‘’Top Selling Song’’, ‘’Top Global K-Pop Artist’’, and ‘’Top K-Pop Album’’. Jimin is the first K-pop solo artist to be named in the ”Top Selling Song” category.

Also, Stray Kids and New Jeans will appear as performers at the awards ceremony on this day. Stray Kids became the second K-pop boy group to perform at the ”Billboard Music Awards” following BTS, and New Jeans is the first K-pop girl group to perform. Stray Kids will perform the title song ”Special” from their 3rd full-length album ”Five Star” and the title song ”Rock” from their new album ”Rockstar”. New Jeans plans to perform ”Super Shy” and ”OMG”, which entered Billboard’s main single chart ”Hot 100”.
