Kyuhyun revealed the story of his disappointment with SM Entertainment after transferring to Antenna

Kyuhyun revealed the story of his disappointment with SM Entertainment after transferring to Antenna.

Kyuhyun and SISTAR 19’s Hyorin and Bora appeared as guests on JTBC’s “Knowing Brothers”, which aired on the 20th, which discussed Kyuhyun leaving SM Entertainment, where he had worked for 18 years, and moving to Antenna last year.

Kyuhyun said that his Super Junior activities will continue at SM, and his personal activities will continue at Antenna.

He said, “I went to (Antenna) without receiving any money at all. I’ve been there for 18 years, and if I sign another contract, I’ll be in my 40s. I wanted to take on one more challenge at the end of my 30s,” he said, revealing the reason for leaving SM.

He added, “I do entertainment, musicals, and singing, but there weren’t many companies that did all of these things together.” He added, “I was actually trying to start a company on my own, but I went around to get advice and was persuaded.”

When asked about the difference between SM and Antenna, he said, “SM is a large company and the Antenna headquarters is small, so there is an atmosphere where everyone gets along. SM has all the infrastructure in place, so everything goes smoothly.”

Kyuhyun was the member who stayed at Super Junior’s dorm until the end.

He said, “I was kicked out. They did give me a grace period. After I moved to Antenna, I went to SM to practice for Super Junior, but they told me to pay the parking fee separately. But it’s still Super Junior,” he said, expressing his disappointment.

Nevertheless, he said, “Still, I love SM,” and “After moving out of the dorm, I moved into a monthly rental across from the old SM headquarters.”
