Nam Tae-hyun, who received a suspended sentence for drug use, has once again expressed his determination to reform

Nam Tae-hyun, who received a suspended sentence for drug use, has once again expressed his determination to reform.

On the 13th, Nam Tae-hyun posted a lengthy message on his social media, stating, “I have committed a grave mistake, but I am sincerely reflecting and repenting every day.”

Previously embroiled in controversy over allegations of Philopon use, Nam Tae-hyun was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence in a trial held in January.

Nam Tae-hyun shared his current situation, stating, “After leaving the rehabilitation center and securing a space in the same building, I am continuing to strengthen my resolve to reform. Although my mind and soul are still slow to recover, they are gradually getting better.”

He continued, “After much thought and contemplation, I have come to realize that ultimately, what I must do is ‘music.’ Despite feeling fearful and uncertain, I believe that the best way to repay those who have waited for me and supported me is through music that provides comfort and joy, rather than controversy.”

He further revealed, “Therefore, I am dedicating myself to preparing an album that encompasses all of my stories. Since I have to handle everything from start to finish by myself, I am working part-time to gradually gather the production funds. It may take some time, but when this music is released, I promise to present satisfactory results to those who have waited for me.”

In conclusion, he humbly expressed, “I will continue to reflect on myself, repent, and live with a heart of apology to those who have been hurt.”

Below is the full text of Nam Tae-hyun’s message:

“Hello, this is Nam Tae-hyun. I have committed a grave mistake, but I am sincerely reflecting and repenting every day. I once again bow my head in apology and gratitude to all of you who are concerned about me and curious about my news. After leaving the rehabilitation center and securing a space in the same building, I am continuing to strengthen my resolve to reform. Although my mind and soul are still slow to recover, they are gradually getting better. Here, I will gradually improve my wrong lifestyle and mindset and make more effort to integrate into society.

“After much thought and contemplation, I have come to realize that ultimately, what I must do is ‘music.’ Of course, there are parts that are frightening and daunting, but I still believe that the best way to repay those who have waited for me and supported me is through music that provides comfort and joy, rather than controversy. Therefore, I am dedicating myself to preparing an album that encompasses all of my stories. Since I have to handle everything from start to finish by myself, I am working part-time to gradually gather the production funds. It may take some time, but when this music is released, I promise to present satisfactory results to those who have waited for me. I will periodically update you on the progress of my work.

“And I will continue to reflect on myself, repent, and live with a heart of apology to those who have been hurt.

-Tae-hyun, signing off”
