Taeyong enlisted in the Navy on the 15th, making him the first NCT member to enlist in the military.

On the previous day, Taeyong shared a photo of himself with a shaved head on his personal social media. On the fan communication platform Bubble, he mentioned, “The members helped cut my hair. Jungwoo started it, but they cut it too short.” He remarked, “I like this. I wanted to try a skinhead. It’s a concept I haven’t tried during activities, and it feels cool.” Playfully, he added, “The first time I’ve seen my own head like this since I was born. Hey, why do you look like this?”

Taeyong’s enlistment news was announced last month. He expressed his feelings directly to fans in a letter, saying, “Looking back on the time until now, I feel that I have matured a lot thanks to all of you and the members. Every moment has been truly meaningful and happy. I am grateful for the precious and shining times you have given me.” He continued, “I still have many things I want to achieve with the members and fans, so I will work hard during my military service and learn many things. When I return, I will be a better version of myself on stage.”

Taeyong debuted as the leader of NCT in 2016. He has been active with NCT subunits NCT 127, NCT U, and the multinational group SuperM, a collaboration project with SM Entertainment. His solo album ‘TAEYONG’ released in February was his latest activity before enlistment.
