The production presentation for TVING’s new original series “Death’s Game” (written and directed by Ha Byeong-hoon) was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 13th.

Attending the event were director Ha Byeong-hoon, Seo In-guk, Park So-dam, Kim Ji-hoon, Kim Mi-kyung, Choi Si-won, Sung Hoon, Kim Kang-hoon, Jang Seung-jo, Lee Jae-wook, Go Yoon-jeong, and Kim Jae-wook.

“Death’s Game” is a life-changing drama in which Choi Yi Jae (Seo In-guk), who is about to fall into hell, experiences death and life 12 times due to the judgment made by Death (Park So-dam).

It is based on a popular webtoon and plans to depict a grand worldview that crosses life and death. Seo In-guk is reincarnated as Choi Si-won, Sung Hoon, Kim Kang-hoon, Jang Seung-jo, Lee Jae-wook, Lee Do-hyun, Go Yoon-jung, Kim Jae-wook, and Oh Jeong-se.

The appearance of several  Choi Yi Jaes are expected to be a fun point for viewers.

Director Ha Byeong-hoon said, “While working on the script, I thought about the people who could play the best role and casted them. I was a fan of Seo In-guk, and I thought that I would like to cast him as a villain someday.”

“I thought the fans would like it if I asked them to play the role, and they would like the acting transformation. As I put on the glasses, the synchronization was similar, and in the original, there was a mole on the right side, and Inguk also had a mole.”

Seo In-guk said, “Choi Yi-jae was given a passionate performance in the bodies of other people. While I sympathized that it must have been difficult because I took on the character first and acted it, I had to narrate their acting, so many people worked together on one character.”

“When I talked to the director about this, I did a lot of research on how it would look exactly like Choi Yi-jae’s actions to the viewers. The actors worked hard, so I felt like I was included in it. Choi Yi-jae died 12 times and he experiences life, but before that, he is a character who has let go of his own life. In the process, he has his own desires and hopes to live, while facing the frustration and death within, and the three-dimensional emotions are difficult before filming. That said, I had a lot of fun filming it.”

In particular, Seo In-guk explained that he tried to increase the synchronization rate for the 12 Choi Yi-jae by recording voices and attending script readings.

Siwon Choi said, “I think it was a new and diverse experience because I had to think about the actors’ acting in the front and back situations. I think I was able to get through it because the director gave me detailed directions.”

Kim Jae-wook said, “It is important to build and express each person’s character, but in the end, there must have been concerns about what it would be like to be reincarnated as Lee Yi  Jae. I thought about how I could draw ‘the character’ that Lee Yi Jae was in.”

In response, Director Ha Byeong-hoon gave a thumbs up, saying, “Satisfaction with the synchronization rate is 120%.”

Because so many famous actors appear, curiosity about Choi Yi-jae is expected to be a key point to watch.

Director Ha Byeong-hoon said, “You will be curious to see what kind of Lee Yi Jae will appear next, and it will be fun to see in what genre and how Lee Yi Jae will die and whether he will avoid death.”

He added, “One of the things I paid the most attention to in terms of direction is One thing is that because there are so many actors, viewers don’t say, ‘It’s too hectic and difficult,’ and we made it simple so that even mothers can understand it.”

“Also, to make it fun to watch the acting, we talked about the characters with the actors, “They put a lot of preparation into it. Except for Choi Yi-jae and Death, everyone played dual roles. I think it will be fun to watch their acting.”

The entire Part 1 of “Death’s Game” will be released on the 15th, and the entire Part 2 will be released on January 5th next year. It will also be released in more than 240 countries around the world through Prime Video.
