INFINITE’s Sungjong notified his agency of the termination of his exclusive contract

INFINITE’s Sungjong notified his agency of the termination of his exclusive contract.

Sungjong notified his agency, SPK Entertainment, of the termination of his exclusive contract at the end of last year and sent several proofs of contents in relation to this. It was confirmed that he listed non-payment of exclusive contract deposit and settlement fee, and breakdown of trust relationship as reasons for terminating the exclusive contract.

Lawyer Kang Yoon-hee of Won Law Firm, who is Sungjong’s legal representative, said, “We sent several proofs of contents and notified of termination of the exclusive contract. The main reasons are non-payment of settlement fee and breakdown of trust relationship. During the period, no human and material support was provided, and no settlement money was paid for the activities.”

However, it is known that the representative of the agency has not yet provided any official response to Sungjong’s side regarding the certification of contents and has remained silent. The CEO of SPK for his position, but he declined to comment, saying, “I have nothing to say.”

Sungjong’s side made several attempts to reach an agreement but was unable to do so, and is considering a lawsuit if SPK’s representative continues to fail to respond.

Sungjong received much love when she debuted with the group Infinite in 2010. As a member of Woollim Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as Woollim), he has been in a relationship for about 12 years since his debut, left Woollim in January 2022, and signed an exclusive contract with his current agency, SPK, in September of that year and started a new beginning.

Sungjong successfully completed a domestic concert in October 2022 and a fan meeting in Taiwan in November, just over a month after signing his exclusive contract, and released the single “The One” in March 2023. In July of that year, he participated in Infinite’s 7th mini album “13egin (Begin)”. At that time, INFINITE showed their power by selling out all tickets for the concert held at KSPO DOME (Gymnastics Stadium).

Although a year and three months have passed since he signed his exclusive contract, his activities as a solo singer other than Infinite have been limited to one single. It is difficult to say that support has been provided properly. Not only that, as a solo singer, he held fan meetings and concerts, especially releasing albums and selling out large-scale concerts as Infinite, but Sungjong’s side claims that he did not receive any payment for these activities.

Attorney Kang said, “We tried to negotiate until last week, so we weren’t thinking about whether to file a lawsuit. I think we’ll have to think about it in the future.”

Attention is being paid to whether Sungjong and SPK will be able to reach a dramatic agreement or whether it will lead to a legal battle.
