BigHit Entertainment (HYBE) takes legal action against false rumors surrounding BTS’ involvement in nightclubs and drugs

Amidst rumors circulating about BTS’s involvement in nightclubs and drugs, HYBE, the agency representing BTS, has released an official statement.

On the 28th, HYBE addressed the issue through Yonhap News, stating the rumors circulating about our artists and a specific location (referring to a nightclub in downtown Seoul where drug use allegedly took place) are entirely untrue.

HYBE emphasized that “BTS members are not aware of the mentioned location and have never visited it.”

Furthermore, they declared, “We are taking legal action against the dissemination of false information and defamation without tolerance, both civil and criminal. We have already initiated legal proceedings against baseless rumors related to our artists.”

Recently, an online community has been sharing what’s known as the ‘Lee Sun-kyun List,’ which included some BTS members and made claims of their involvement in drugs.

Additionally, allegations of some BTS members frequenting nightclubs were raised by an internet media outlet and a YouTube channel, causing a stir.

HYBE appears to be preparing to file a formal complaint as soon as their data collection is complete.

They concluded their statement by warning, “We will hold those responsible for the continuous spread of false information accountable until the end.”
