Jimin to release “Closer Than This” on 22nd December.
On the 21st, Jimin‘s agency Big Hit Music announced on the fan community platform Weverse, “Jimin’s solo digital single ‘Closer Than This’ will be released.”
“Closer Than This” is a song prepared by Jimin before enlisting in the military, and is a fan song containing a sincere message he wants to convey to ARMY (BTS‘ official fandom name).
On the 12th, Jimin enlisted along with member Jungkook through the 5th Infantry Division Recruit Training Center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do.
The day before his enlistment, he said through Weverse Live, “I will return safely. I really wanted to say this,” and “Jungkook and I will go to the military and do well in what we have to do. I hope we can do whatever we want after we go,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jimin’s expected discharge date is June 2025. The fan song “Closer Than This” will be released at 2pm (KST) on the 22nd.
